Packin' UP

We're packing up our entire lives again! No, we're not moving again, but whenever we travel, it feels like it!! We're always on the go! Crazy Browns! We'll be going to New England tomorrow. We have decided to take the trip in two days...Yippee!! We cannot wait to see everyone again! It's only been 6 wks but it feels so much longer! Six weeks that we haven't seen our precious Sarah! Suprisingly, the kids' suitcase is already packed! I pulled their clothes out yesterday and Matt packed 'em up last night! How great! Now today is the rest of the packing and cleaning, including a haircut for Sam and buying a portable DVD player! If you have any recommendations before noon today...please call me!

Anyhow, if we don't hear from you before the New Year's, Have a memorable and safe New Year's! Happy 2007!!!

Tnx for the prayers

We would like to thank everyone who was praying for Daniel. He's been two days without any cough! He recovered on his own without requiring any breathing treatments since Saturday night! Being a nurse, and have cared for children in the hospital with RSV, I was very scared about how bad it would/could get. We are so blessed to have a Father who watches over us and holds us in His hands. Daniel did not get terribly bad at all! I think we caught it early enough to get proper treatment! Praise God for the quick healing He did on Daniel! Thanks again brothers and sisters!

A Blessed Christmas!!

Ours was great! It all started on Saturday with my mom and sister here. We opened gifts Sat. night b/c we (meaning Vicki & I) could not wait. Mainly b/c we had bought a special gift for our mom. On Sunday morning Mom and I tried to decorate cookies with Sam but she lost interest quickly, so Matt filled in and we made over 5 dozen cookies! (I still have 3 more batches to make at Matt's request!) Anyhow, on Sunday night, Matt and Sam went to the evening service at church and Daniel and I stayed home. After church, we all headed over to Barb & Nick's. We had Christmas and a great visit with them! On Monday we took our leisurely time getting up to start the day! There was no rush on opening gifts and both of the kids slept in until 8am! It's great to have kids who don't really understand the full concept of Christmas yet! After eating a wonderful pancake breakfast made by Matt and reading the Christmas story (based off of Christmas Eve's church program), we opened gifts. We started with Daniel since he's the youngest, and of course I was the last...being the oldest. It's good for my patience to have to be last every year! Sammie was funny b/c everything was Sammie's gift...even the underwear I bought for Matt! She's too cute! However, she wasn't too cute when she wouldn't take a nap that afternoon, but who can blame her...it's Christmas! Later, Matt made most of the dinner (I helped a little bit)...turkey, mashed pototoes, and a veggie. After dinner, we had birthday cake and sang Happy Birthday! Have you heard the "Happy Birthday Jesus" song? One of the children's choirs at church sang it and it was so beautiful! How was your Christmas? Did you go anywhere?

Back to the Work Place

Becky had been asked to return to the workplace...but only for a couple hours. I worked two hrs today for a friend! And let me tell you, it was bittersweet! It was nice to be back with my friends, but I was not doing my regular job, and therefore, I didn't get to interact face2face with patients! I was answering the phones and had some parents that are very difficult to deal with. I just want to know why parents think that their kid(s) is (are) the most important and that their needs must be met before anyone else's!? Esp. when they feel that their rudeness will get them where they want to be exactly when they want to be there! Anyhow, I'm off my soapbox! How annoying and very essence of why there are things like road rage! Thankfully, we can say that this will not become a regular thing...unless we're still in VA in the spring and Becky gets antsy! (Probably not!) I really appreciate being at home once I've been at work, yet I realize how much adult conversation is necessary for a stay-at-home mom!

We're Over the Worst!!

Thank you to all who have been praying for Daniel! He's doing much better! He went for a follow-up appt. today (yesterday since I'm writing after midnite). The NP said he's over the worst and is on the mend! He needs to take his medicine for the next two days but after that only prn (as needed). Once his cough has lessened to one/two times a day, we can go out and do more stuff. Unfortunately, that might not be until next week sometime. Thanks again to everyone! Hope you all have a great Christmas and New Years!

Last nite...

...was a rough night. Daniel was up at least every two hours coughing. This morning he woke up with a fever and just more miserable. Poor little guy! Thankfully he's sleeping right now! One good thing being stuck at home all week, I might be able to focus on cleaning more. When the kids get sick, that's when I feel everything is very yucky and needs to be scrubbed down!!

Please Pray

Just wanted to shout out to everyone and ask for prayer. Daniel has been diagnosed with RSV today. He's doing well and fortunately is able to stay home. I had taken care of many babies with RSV when I worked in the hospital. I am of course on guard with every cough he makes! We have to stay home until his cough goes away; he's contagious as long as he has the cough! We are thankful that the Lord has, is, and will continue to watch over him and us. He is providing us with all we need! Praise the LORD!

Lord Willing, We finally made it!!

Daniel slept ten hours on Monday night and nine hours last night! It was great! Esp. since I was up until 1am last night! There will be some more late nights before Christmas! Have most of my christmas shopping done...only three, or four, more gifts to get!! Now I just have to get my cards/letters and wrapping done! It will help to have Daniel sleep later than 5 am now! If he continues this progress until Friday, then into the crib (in the other bedroom) he goes! That will definitely make more space in our room...no more bassinet!

Christmas Shopping

Well, it's almost over! I have most of it completed! Thank Goodness! I have been able to do a lot of it online...it's lazy, but not when I have two kids who cannot walk around the store independently (at least without running away as a game!). I think this is the first year that I have a good majority of my shopping done more than two weeks before Christmas! How exciting!! How's your shopping going? My sister-in-law shared a great website with me...www.couponsaver.com! Hope you can find some savings from it!

Becky's First

This is my first attempt at Blogging...what a change from email! This past weekend we had a great visit with Danielle...almost 36 wks. pregnant. It was great to see her. We hadn't seen each other since the summer, I think...It's been so long, I've forgotten when we saw each other last! Cannot wait to see the baby...and find out her name!! Now that everyone finds out the sex of the fetus, it's fun not knowing the name because there's still a suprise for the family and friends to wait for!! Also, for us, it was great not having to listen to everyone's input and comments on the chosen name, and if it takes longer than desired to find a name, then they cannot give you a hard time about that either! What do you think?

Daniel Update

Daniel is growing like a weed. Becky and I just measured him yesterday, and he's already 23 and 3/4 inches long! He's only 8 inches shorter than Sammie. I can't believe that he's already over two months old, Although it seems like we've had him forever. He's almost sleeping through the night. We've got him sleeping 7.5 hours straight at night.

Becky and I took some time the other day to take a couple of "good" photos of Daniel. Although he's not doing a lot of smiling yet, we were able to catch a couple in the pictures posted here.
